The Dell EMC Student STAR Program is a one-week intensive workshop, designed to equip students with the tools needed to excel in both their academic and professional journeys. Student STAR focuses on four key areas central to every student's success: Communication, Teamwork, Life Skills and an Introduction to Business. Through this focus, Student STAR bridges the gap between higher education and Dell EMC, in order to broaden the horizons of local college bound students at no cost to the attendees!

The Dell EMC Student STAR Program is open to any student entering their Junior or Senior year of High School, as well as students entering their Freshman year of college. This is not limited to family members of employees, but is open to students in surrounding communities. The program has no cost; however, applicants must submit a complete application for consideration. Students who have already participated in the program are not eligible to reapply.

From business-focused topics like Engineering, Personal Finance, Sales, and Marketing to sessions such as 'Transition to College', 'Social Media and the Internet' students are provided with key tools to apply now and in the future. Presentations equip students with a set of cross-functional interpersonal skills applicable to all areas of life. Lastly, academic-focused presentations such as The College Application Process 101 or The Princeton Review's SAT Overview round out the program to provide students with a complex skill set that truly encompasses the academic, business, and life skill benefits.

The Student STAR program is developed, organized, and lead by Dell EMC Education Services. However, presentation delivery is the combined effort of both internal and external resources. Representatives from Dell EMC's functional groups such as Inside Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Marketing as well as external participants from the New England Universities and Colleges with the Student STAR Program leaders to provide the audience a well rounded experience.

When we say "workshop," we mean it! While learning and knowledge sharing are core components of the program, getting students up, moving and involved in presentations is essential. Activities include daily ice breakers, interactive presentations, and fun review games.

A complete workshop session runs from Monday through Thursday from 9:00AM to 4:30PM. If the location of the Student STAR Program that you are interested in offers several weeks of sessions, students will be asked to select their primary and secondary date preferences when registering. Students only need to complete 1 workshop session from Monday through Thursday.

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the Student STAR Program last week. I gained new skills and confidence in my ability to present, which I know will greatly assist in my senior year of High School and in college.

I have learned so much about who I am. I came into this not knowing one person, and I really enjoyed meeting all these new people.

My daughter came home each day telling me how much she learned and enjoyed the speakers. She also enjoyed that she was able to practice her team building and presentation skills. The program obviously made quite an impact on her.

I now feel more confident working in a team environment and have a better understanding of the challenges ahead of me as a future college bound student.

It is not easy keeping teenagers engaged but this program consistently does that.

My son just completed the program and like his brother before him, has told me that he had an amazing experience.

I would like to thank you for this past week, and how great it was. It is a very well designed 4 day program.

This week was extremely informative and fun. I made a ton of great friends and I learned so much. The skills I have learned this week will help me in so many ways in the future, whether it is social, educational or career based.
